Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace (1815–1852) was an English mathematician and writer. She is best known for her work on Charles Babbage's analytical engine, where she recognized the machine's potential beyond pure calculation. Her notes on the engine include the first algorithm intended for machine processing, leading many to regard her as the world's first computer programmer.
