Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter (1866–1943) was an English writer, illustrator, natural scientist, and conservationist. Best known for her children's books featuring animals, she achieved commercial success with The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902. Potter was also a pioneer of character merchandising, having patented the first stuffed toy based on a fictional character in 1903. Her works have sold over 250 million copies worldwide.
