James Karales

James Karales was an American photographer and photo-essayist who worked for Look magazine between 1960 and 1971. He is recognized for his extensive documentation of the Civil Rights Movement, including the formation of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and the activities of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His most notable work is an iconic photograph capturing the Selma to Montgomery march.
