John Armstrong

John Armstrong (1709–1779) was a Scottish physician, poet, and satirist. Born at Castleton Manse in Roxburghshire, he studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh, where he became the first student to graduate with distinction in 1732. Following his studies, he established a successful medical practice in London while maintaining his career as a writer.
