John Betjeman

Sir John Betjeman was an English poet, writer, and broadcaster who served as Poet Laureate from 1972 until his death in 1984. A journalist by trade, he became a prominent television personality and a dedicated advocate for the preservation of Victorian architecture. He was a founding member of The Victorian Society and played a key role in the campaign to save St Pancras railway station from demolition.
