John L. Esposito
John L. Esposito (1940–2026) was an American academic and scholar specializing in Middle Eastern and Islamic studies. He served as a professor of religion and international affairs at Georgetown University, where he also acted as the founding director of the Prince Alwaleed Center for Muslim–Christian Understanding. His career focused on the intersection of religious studies and global affairs.
