Louis H. Sullivan

Louis Henry Sullivan (1856–1924) was an influential American architect associated with the Chicago School and widely recognized as a father of modernism and the skyscraper. He is credited with the architectural principle that form follows function and served as a mentor to Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1944, he became the second architect to posthumously receive the AIA Gold Medal.
