Marmaduke William Pickthall
Marmaduke William Pickthall was an English Islamic scholar and novelist best known for his 1930 translation of the Quran, The Meaning of the Glorious Koran. A convert from Christianity to Islam, he was esteemed by literary figures including D. H. Lawrence and H. G. Wells. His career spanned roles as a journalist and writer, with his work remaining widely recognized in the English-speaking world.
