Richard D. Alba
Richard D. Alba (1942–2025) was an American sociologist and professor who held positions at the Graduate Center, CUNY and the University at Albany, SUNY. He founded the Center for Social and Demographic Analysis and gained recognition for his work on assimilation theory within the context of contemporary multi-racial immigration. In 2020, he was elected to the National Academy of Sciences for his extensive research on migration patterns in America, France, and Germany.
