Rogers M. Smith

Rogers M. Smith is an American political scientist and author specializing in constitutional development, political thought, and issues of inequality. He is the Christopher H. Browne Distinguished Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania and served as president of the American Political Science Association from 2018 to 2019. His research explores the competing traditions of American national identity, including liberalism and ascriptive forms of Americanism.
