Vladimir Propp

Vladimir Yakovlevich Propp (1895–1970) was a Soviet folklorist and scholar. He is recognized for his analytical work on Russian folk tales, specifically his research into identifying the basic plot components and the simplest irreducible narrative elements found within these traditional stories.
