Yinka Shonibare

Born in 1962, Yinka Shonibare is a British artist whose work examines cultural identity, colonialism, and post-colonialism within the context of globalization. He is known for using brightly colored Ankara batik fabrics across various media, including sculpture, photography, and video installation. Due to paralysis on one side of his body, Shonibare produces his works through the direction of assistants.
